Introduction: A Science and Its Concepts
This section presents a few notions and concepts that make it easier
to understand the way scientific process is applied in archaeology
and how it results in archaeological interpretation.
The concepts presented here include the distinction between prehistory
and history, the peopling of the territory of present-day Quebec
and the contribution made by other sciences to archaeology in the
task of reconstructing humanity’s past.
